Why is PLAY so important? When children play, they have the opportunity to explore, experiment, and pretend, giving them the chance to figure things out, be creative, and develop motor skills. Through the process of interacting, negotiating, and compromising with others, a child will develop empathy, social skills, and confidence. Play helps children build 21st-century learning skills, which include critical and creative thinking, collaboration, communication, and citizenship.

We are on track to serve 365,000 guests this year – that’s a lot of PLAY!  Over 80,000 of these guests will have accessed the museum through our free or discounted admission Kidspace for All access programs.

We rely on support from individuals like you to make PLAY a reality for everyone.
